Start4All: Start Taking Action for TB Diagnosis Project
Start4all is a research project led by LSTM which will be implemented in two phases and focuses on key and vulnerable populations including in settings where TB diagnostic testing is not normally performed, and people are diagnosed clinically due to limited access to laboratory facilities.
The project will be implemented in chosen primary health care centres and district hospitals across the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa.
Project Objectives
To evaluate the performance of selected TB diagnostic tests (GeneXpert Edge, LF LAM, CRP, CAD CXR) and test combinations in primary health care settings and key and vulnerable populations.
To identify test combinations that increase the proportion of people diagnosed with bacteriologically confirmed TB in comparison to a local microbiological reference standard (MGIT culture, GeneXpert MTB/RIF)
